Welcome to glassbottles. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

glassbottles lets you write one anonymous message a day, “throw” it into a shared digital sea, and receive a stranger’s message in return. Messages are exchanged anonymously. Writing, throwing and receiving bottles is free, always. Keeper is an optional paid membership for extras (see below). Features may change over time.

Keeper membership

Keeper is optional. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which sells the membership to you and handles billing and sales tax; their checkout terms apply to the payment itself.

• Monthly and yearly memberships renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from Settings → Manage membership; you keep Keeper until the end of the period you paid for.
• New members get one 7-day free trial per account. Unless you cancel before it ends, the first charge happens when the trial ends.
• Founding Keeper is a one-time purchase, limited to the first 100 members, and lasts for as long as glassbottles runs.
• When a membership ends, what you made stays: bottles you already sent keep their look. Only new Keeper extras stop.
• Deleting your account cancels any renewing membership.
• If a charge looks wrong, email us and we’ll put it right; refunds are issued through Dodo Payments.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use glassbottles. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when signing up, and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use glassbottles to write, send, or solicit any message that:

• harasses, threatens, bullies, or targets another person;
• is hateful, discriminatory, or incites violence;
• is sexually explicit, or sexualises or endangers minors;
• is spam, a scam, or an attempt to advertise or phish;
• shares another person’s private information without consent;
• is illegal, or promotes illegal or dangerous activity.

You also agree not to attempt to de-anonymise other users, disrupt or overload the service, or access it through automated means without our permission.

Content and moderation

You retain ownership of the messages you write, but you grant us the limited right to store and deliver them as part of running the service. Because messages are anonymous and sent to strangers, no person reads them in advance; instead an automated safety check reads each bottle before delivery, and a bottle that shares contact details or links, is cruel toward someone, is sexual, or is spam stays ashore and comes back to you to rewrite. The check can make mistakes in both directions, so the report flag remains. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

Anonymity & safety

Messages are delivered anonymously. Never rely on the service to keep information private that you type into a message — do not share personal contact details, financial information, or anything you would not want an anonymous stranger to read. If you receive a message that violates these terms, please report it so we can act.

Termination

You may stop using glassbottles and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that harms other users or the service itself.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

glassbottles is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular message will be delivered. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any content you receive from other users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
